The foundation of Christianity is found in the bible and we cannot compromise its word.
The foundation of our belief is faith. We must believe what we don’t see. Hebrews 11:1 tells us that faith is the substance of things hoped for, evidence of things unseen. In other words we must not believe in what we see, but believe in what what the word of God says. The word of God is an instruction manual full of principles. When we follow God's instruction we can reap from what it says. We know God’s promises are yes in Christ and in Him Amen. 2 Corinthians 1:20.
Through the teaching of faith many will be able to do exactly what the apostles did in the book of Acts. Jesus tells us in Mark that the signs that follow them that believe, they will cast out demons, speak with new tongues, take up serpents and lay hands on the sick and they will recover. We are to do this today. All are called to do the works that Jesus did, and He Himself even told us that we would do the same works as Him, but greater because He goes to the Father. You can find that in John 14:12. Jesus didn’t say only the 12 apostles, He said Whoever Believes. That’s you.
Hebrews 11:1 Sums it all up.
FAITH is the substance of things hoped for,
evidence of things unseen.
But without faith It Is Impossible to please Him,
for he who comes to God must believe that He is,
and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
